- Dec 29, 2021 · 3 years agoYes, providing your SSN is necessary when creating an account on Poloniex. This requirement is in line with the Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations that many cryptocurrency exchanges have to comply with. KYC regulations are designed to prevent money laundering, fraud, and other illegal activities. By collecting your SSN, Poloniex can verify your identity and ensure that you are not involved in any illicit activities.
- Dec 29, 2021 · 3 years agoNo, providing your SSN is not necessary on Poloniex. While some cryptocurrency exchanges require SSN for identity verification, Poloniex does not have this requirement. However, keep in mind that Poloniex may still require other forms of identification, such as a government-issued ID, to comply with KYC regulations and ensure the security of their platform.
- Dec 29, 2021 · 3 years agoAs an expert in the field, I can confirm that providing your SSN is indeed necessary when creating an account on Poloniex. This is a standard practice in the cryptocurrency industry to comply with KYC regulations. Rest assured that Poloniex takes the security of your personal information seriously and has measures in place to protect it.
