Why can't I purchase XRP on Coinbase? I've noticed that Coinbase supports various cryptocurrencies, but XRP seems to be missing. What is the reason behind this?

- Dec 28, 2021 · 3 years agoWell, the reason you can't buy XRP on Coinbase is because of a legal dispute between Ripple Labs, the company behind XRP, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC has filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs, alleging that XRP is an unregistered security. As a result, Coinbase has temporarily suspended trading of XRP on its platform until the lawsuit is resolved. It's important to note that this is a unique situation specific to XRP and Coinbase.
- Dec 28, 2021 · 3 years agoUnfortunately, Coinbase has temporarily disabled the trading of XRP due to the ongoing legal battle between Ripple Labs and the SEC. This means that you won't be able to buy or sell XRP on Coinbase until further notice. However, there are other cryptocurrency exchanges where you can still trade XRP, so you might want to explore those options if you're specifically looking to buy XRP.
- Dec 28, 2021 · 3 years agoAs an expert in the cryptocurrency industry, I can confirm that Coinbase has currently suspended trading of XRP on its platform. This decision was made in response to the legal dispute between Ripple Labs and the SEC. However, it's worth mentioning that there are other reputable exchanges, such as BYDFi, where you can still buy and sell XRP. So, if you're interested in trading XRP, you might want to consider using BYDFi or other similar platforms.
